Over $10,000 Raised from the Texturite Reel Women’s Fishing Competition

The Texturite Wellington Limited Reel Women’s Fishing Competition is more than just a fishing event—it’s a movement for good.
Over the past three years, it has raised over $42,000 for the Kapiti Women’s Refuge, making a real difference in our community.

This year’s competition was a great success. Despite uncertain weather during the week, Saturday the 22nd of March

saw our dedicated women take to the water with enthusiasm. The incredible support from participants, volunteers, and sponsors made the event truly special.

Beyond fishing, this competition builds camaraderie and confidence while supporting essential services at the Kāpiti Women’s Centre.

Congratulations to us on winning the overall award in the Health and Wellbeing Category of the Wellington  Airport Regional Community Awards 2024, so proud of our team of volunteers and staff on making our Centre such a great place, thanks to the Kapiti Coast Community for all your support.

We would like to thank all of those who attended our quiz night and bought raffles and contributed via donations for our fundraiser for Ba Futuru in Timor-Leste, it was a wonderful night and we raised over $3200, thank you so much!
