White Ribbon Day
Many hands make light work! On Wednesday 16th November a group of dedicated and hardworking collective members took over the kitchen at the Kapiti Community Centre to bake and ice over 1,500 White Ribbon biscuits for the Voices Against Violence group. These biscuits will be handed out to the bikers and supporters who are gathering outside the Mediterranean Warehouse on Monday 21st November. Volunteers will be handing out biscuits to the train and bus commuters early on Friday morning, the 25th November. What a worthy cause to be involved in! Click here for photos of the bake-off.
Womens Opinion Files
For a variety of reasons, women are often unsure who to access for health assistance or which tradespeople to contract. To help other women, KWC encourages women to record both their positive and negative experiences of local practitioners and tradespeople. These opinions are not the opinions of KWC.
Photocopying
The staff at KWC are keen to share their skills and assist with any photocopying requirements you may have. There is a nominal charge of 10 cents for each copy.
Condoms
KWC provides free condoms to all women. These are available from the bathroom at the Centre and women are encouraged to help themselves as they need. KWC is very grateful to the Coastal Medical Rooms for their support in enabling this service to be provided.
