Second Oil Painting Class added
Our Friday oil painting class filled up so fast, that we are squeezing in another one on Wednesdays! This class will cover the same material, but will instead be run as 3 long classes (instead of the 6 short classes). As it’s a last minute squeeze into the timetable, it will be run fortnightly instead of weekly.
Details: Oil Painting for Beginners: “Using water-based oils (virtually no odour), we will produce several small works including a small landscape and floral image. A chance to make this versatile medium your friend!”
3 x Wednesdays 9.30am-1pm
Fortnightly, on May 28th, June 11th, and June 25th 2014.
$30 including all materials.
I hope this pleases those who’ve missed out, or those who have been asking for an art class on a different day of the week for a change!! :) Phone 902 6222 to register your interest!
Government House Reception
The Kapiti Women’s Centre were delighted to received an invitation to a reception at Government House to celebrate 120 years of women’s suffrage in New Zealand. In the usual collective way, volunteers to attend this event were sought from the collective. Becky, Louise, Jan Crafts and Rae were delighted to represent the collective. A highlight of the evening was a tour of the house, a concert by a young women jazz singer from the University and an opportunity to meet other people from around New Zealand.

Arts Trail 2013
This year the Kapiti Women’s Centre participated in the Kapiti Arts Trail. We had a wonderful range of artists exhibit their work and it allowed us to open the centre to the public so they could get more of an understanding what we do here. It was a very successful weekend with plenty of people coming and viewing the exhibits, have a coffee and some cake or buying one of our lovely pure lamb sausages. We would like to thank all the artists who helped us make our first Arts Trail destination a great success. Thanks to Abbey Wendy, Gill Allen, Jane Fogden, Jean Kahui, Margurite Osborne, Tracey Morgan, Liz Symes.
